I use them regularly because they are so quick and easy. I would assume they last as long as any other frozen veg. I buy a pound for same price as one can! I love to put on a pot of beans and you're right, once you get it going you really don't have to do anything more than check on them a couple of times. Too easy not to do. And far better testing.aTxVegnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17949520229934543457noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7451744916803911474.post-35990573277109475092008-10-20T19:24:00.000+01:002008-10-20T19:24:00.000+01:00You have so much different beans! I am always looking to save $ I think thats partly why I started cooking at home! I am so jealous of all your beans - many I have never heard of. Curse you WF for only stocking "traditional" beans like green lentils and chickpeas.

I live on canned beans (partly because I'm lazy) and partly because I've been able to find sodium free organic ones but I should be more green and use dry! (hell, it would be cheaper) thanks for kicking me in the butt to get me moving in the right direction.Lindsay (Happy Herbivore)https://www.blogger.com/profile/11254775369646541070noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7451744916803911474.post-42551108641479797152008-10-20T00:10:00.000+01:002008-10-20T00:10:00.000+01:00I almost always use dried beans--I've found so man...I almost always use dried beans--I've found so many different varieties that you can't get canned, and I really don't want all that extra sodium in the canned ones. That said, I'm with you--it's good to have a few cans set aside for an emergency or when you're really in a rush. But freezing the cooked beans is a fabulous idea (why didn't I ever think of that??) :)Rickihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10152813989228518262noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7451744916803911474.post-18511950199944239832008-10-19T23:33:00.000+01:002008-10-19T23:33:00.000+01:00anasazi beans are my favorite. i fell into the hab...anasazi beans are my favorite. i fell into the habit of buying canned beans out of convenience for awhile, but i've been buying more dry stock lately because of the cost. it saves on waste/recycling too since there are no cans to recyle.
i'm also thinking of sprouting them for raw food recipes. i've seen a couple of recipes for raw hummus that look interesting.disabled accounthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13540062415882767130noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7451744916803911474.post-63129671873448750022008-10-19T23:03:00.000+01:002008-10-19T23:03:00.000+01:00I need to start making dried beans more - I love h...I need to start making dried beans more - I love how pretty they are and how they get all wrinkly and then huge when you soak them.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
